     Perfect pattern for beginners.  Start with the easy 2 block tablerunner and progress to a nice lap quilt.  Basic directions for cutting fabric, sewing 1/4" seams, and squaring blocks are just a few of the skills covered in this pattern.

     Try a variety of quilting techniques as you make one block a month to celebrate the year.  The first pattern is for a calendar holder which can then display the blocks of the month and store the extra blocks as you make more.  Make one for yourself and surprise a friend by sending him/her a special block each month.
